Writing tool: ink stone and case
Description
One grey rounded rectangular ink stone in a two-piece red-brown wooden case. Ink stone obverse presents flat oval working surface for grinding ink sticks. Incised botanical designs flow from obverse to reverse on one end of the stone. Reverse presents two seals and eleven Chinese characters 嘉慶三年秋七月錢塘黃易 (in the autumn July of the third year of Emperor Jiaqing (1798)).
