Description
One speckled grey-green carved stone sculpture comprising a head and neck broken off a larger figure. Face exhibits a small nose and mouth but has no eyes. Horizontal incision on brow creates the impression of a hairline. Top and rear of head presents sculpted cord and pigtail.

Provenance
Given by Alley to Owen Jackson (1919-2008) of Friends' Ambulance Unit in China (1945-1947) in 1946 to present to Canterbury Museum. In 1956, loaned to the Rewi Alley Chinese Art and Crafts Exhibition, held at the Provincial Council Chambers, Christchurch.
