Description
One glazed blue and white ceramic snuff bottle. A short narrow neck surmounts a flattened rounded rectangular body tapering towards an oval-shaped base. Neck ringed with ruyi design. Body faces present a continuous design of figures silhouetted against a geometric meander pattern. Short sides exhibit botanical motifs. Base presents mark of Yongzheng Emperor (1723-1735 AD).

One of a consignment carried to New Zealand in 1957 by George Jackson of Auckland, and from Auckland to Christchurch by Jack Locke, including 22 snuff bottles.
