Description
One shallow circular glazed white Ding ware bowl with a narrow shallow base. Bowl interior presents moulded relief patterns comprising paired fish on the base surrounded by concentric bands of serpentine botanical and geometric patterns. Innermost concentric band also exhibits six characters.

One of the gifts brought by Alley to Canterbury Museum in 1960, during his first visit to New Zealand since 1937.
