Description
One unglazed tan-brown earthenware figurine of a seated drummer. Figure depicted grinning jovially with upper teeth visible through open mouth. Figure nestles drum under its left arm supporting this on bent left knee. Drummer's right arm and right leg are extended and the right hand presents a small hole. Traces of blue grey mauve and red pigmentation visible on figure's body and drum.
Provenance
Replica in earthenware of Han Dynasty original from excavations of a tomb in Sichuan Province, gifted by Alley in 1964.
