One circular coin. Obverse outer circumference presents nine Chinese characters comprising (top) 中華民國 (the Republic of China) and (bottom) 開國紀念幣 (coin commemorating the birth of the Republic of China) surrounding a central design of crossed flags bordered on either side by botanical motifs. Reverse outer circumference reads THE REPUBLIC OF CHINA TEN CASH in English-language script surrounding a central wreath motif within which are two Chinese characters 十文 (ten wen).
