Title

Coin: Zodiac Charm Coins

Description

Six round, metal coins from the Pre-Qin period, each depicting subjects of the Chinese Zodiac. All but one of the coins depict dragons. The other coin illustrates the Twelve Earthly Branches, which are used in combination with Heavenly Stems to designate years, months, days and hours. Unlike the dragon coins, this coin has not been carved through and instead the characters and images have been depicted in relief. Worn together as Amulet.
