Bottle: snuff

Description

One glazed white ceramic snuff bottle. A short neck surmounts a flattened circular body tapering towards an oval-shaped base. One face presents a multi-coloured design of a mounted warrior leading a dog; the other side presents a multi-coloured design of a figure standing in front of a camel.

Provenance

One of a consignment carried to New Zealand in 1957 by George Jackson of Auckland, and from Auckland to Christchurch by Jack Locke, including 22 snuff bottles.
