Ceramic: bowls

Description

Two circular glazed white ceramic rice bowls each tapering to a shallow narrow base. Interior and exterior of bowls present bands of geometric and serpentine botanical patterns in blue orange-red pale green and yellow. On the interior and exterior sides of the bowls are flower petals coloured pale green corresponding to areas of thinner ceramic that transmits light. Interior base of each bowl presents a serpent-like dragon motif. Undersides of bases of bowls exhibit mark of Guangxu (1875-1908).
